Forty Four (44) days ago, I told you about Plumbing and Sand.
It doesn't seem that long ago, does it?
Most of the rough-in plumbing has been completed.
I have learned, rough-in plumbing is all the plumbing pipes, pipe fittings, drains and vent piping.
I'll bet, you thought A Lesson In Concrete would be the only thing you would learn, from this blog.
The water lines have been done in a cross-linked polyethylene, commonly abbreviated as PEX.

Some of the advantages to using PEX;
Flexibility
Direct routing of pipes
Greater water pressure at fixtures
Less materials cost
Easier installation
No FIRE risk during installation
Longevity
Less likely to burst
No corrosion
PEX is the up and coming product for plumbing water lines! It has also been used for radiant heating, high voltage electrical cables, natural gas and offshore oil applications. The product has been used in Europe since the 70's.
All drains and vent piping have been done in traditional PVC piping. Lots of priming and gluing!
All sorts of connections... Elbows, Tees, Wyes, Couples, Crosses, 90's, 45's...
Enough about PEX and PVC. I'm not planning to get a plumbing license. Are you?
This is what you are really here for!

They even plumbed in outside faucets!
I realize, this post may not be a BIG deal to readers, but it is HUGE to us.
Just one step closer to being in our new home!

It might be a small accomplishment, yet it's one of the most important part of your house. Great job in all those pipe installations! It's been a while now, and I wonder if you finished the construction. Did you move in already? May I remind you to conduct regular maintenance for these pipes to avoid leaks and rusts. Thanks for the share! :)

Monica,
DeleteConstruction was completed May 3, 2013. Exactly 8 months from the house fire that destroyed our original home. Because of the house fire, there are regular inspections done on everything in our new home.
It was a joy to spend our first holiday season in our new home. We love it!
