6 Months

Today marks 6 months since the house fire.

It's hard to believe it's been six months!

It seems like yesterday, we got the call from Drewman telling us "Come home now!"

 

Setting in church this morning, something in the sermon hit home to me.

Some think Good Things Happen To Good People and Bad Things Happen To Bad People.

 

I remember on our drive home six months ago, I continued to ask "What have we done to deserve this?"

We aren't bad people.

We do our best to live right.

We try to be fair, honest and just to others.

We aren't judgemental.

We have made our mistakes and work to correct them.

We aren't Bad People!

 

FINALLY, we came to the understanding, we had to stop asking "WHY".

We had to accept, Good Things Happen To Bad People and Bad Things Happen To Good People.

 

In changing that focus, it has allowed us to move forward.

SO GLAD WE DID!!

Because in 6 months,

We have gone from this

 

TO THIS!

 

All the while, saying the prayer My Daddy said daily.

 

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
